This Victorian one piece conductor's baton which is made of ebony has silver end fittings to the top and tip which are fully hallmarked for 1898 and have a beautiful scrolling design.
The central silver band is also hallmarked and has an inscription that reads: HA Saunders 1899.
A very nice conductor's baton that would make a very nice gift.
Material: Ebony wood. Silver.
Date: 1898.
Hallmarked: Top, middle and bottom silver fittings are hallmarked. Lion for sterling silver. Anchor for Birmingham and the date letter y for 1898. Maker's mark J.C.
Dimensions of Baton: Length: 51 cm (20").
Weight: 72 g.
Condition: Very good antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. One small hole in the handle. Baton has a slight curve. Please see pictures.
