This handsome early Victorian wine bottle holder which is made of Old Sheffield Plate dates from the 1840's and has a circular base which has a Greek key pattern.
This nice quality antique bottle holder is by George Richmond Collis & Co and is unusual as it can be adjusted in height by the sliding rear arm which holds the wine bottle in place. Holds a standard bottle of wine or Champagne (holds a bottle with a bottom diameter of 9.5 cm max).
A stylish way to serve wine from the bottle and a quality early Victorian piece of barware.

Marks: Marked to underside with maker's marks for George Richmond Collis and for Old Sheffield Plate.

Condition: Very clean antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Some marks and rubbing where the bottom of the bottle has sat. Please see pictures.
