This stunning antique walking cane which dates from c1900 has a fabulous handle made of German silver that is in the form of an eagle's head.

The handle is made of 800 silver by German silversmith Kurz Gottlieb of Schwabisch Gmund and is a fine quality piece with fantastic detail including the eagle's curved open beak and feathers. The stick has a heavy weighted feel and the bamboo shaft is a good length with a metal ferrule fitted to the tip.

This rare and quality walking stick would make a wonderful collector's piece.

Hallmarked: DRGM. Crescent moon and crown. 800 For 800 German silver. (silver fineness .800). Maker's mark GK for Kurz Gottlieb of Schwabisch Gmund, Germany.

Date: c1900.

Dimensions: Width: 12 cm (4 3/4"). Depth: 2.5 cm (1"). Length: 91.5 cm (36").

Weight: 288 g.

Condition: Good used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some scratches, bruises, general wear, tarnish and dents to the top. There is some solder under the curve of the handle.
