This handsome antique silver box which is made by silversmith William Neale & Sons is fully hallmarked for Chester 1900 and feels heavy in the hand.
This quality desk box has a wood lining to the sides and base and a gilt lined lid which is of a nice heavy gauge. The lid has a French inscription to the top corner that reads: 1 Juillet 1901.
This antique box could be used as a cigarette / cigar box, trinket/cufflink box or desk box.

Hallmark: Lion for sterling silver. Chester. Date letter R for 1900 and maker's mark W.N for William Neale & Sons.

Weight: 402 g.
Condition: Good used antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. A few small bruises to the corners / edge, some small dings, marks, light scratches, light tarnishing and a tiny crack to one bottom edge. Good clear Chester hallmark. Please see pictures.
