This antique velvet sports cap has an embroidered monogram to the front for Rydal School Rugby and was awarded to H.S. Wigfield for his sporting achievements in 1926, 1927 & 1928.

There is a similar cap in the Cardiff Rugby Online Museum dated 1928/29 which was awarded to Wilferd Wooller who was one of the greatest all-round sportsman that Wales has ever produced and played his first rugby at Rydal School.

The velvet cap which has heavy silver gilt braided decoration to the monogram, tassel and edging has it's retailer's label for C. G. Southcott Co Partnership. Leeds plus the hand written name of H.S. Wigfield.

A wonderful antique sports cap that looks great on display and special collector's item.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with only light signs of use in keeping with age but the inside silk lining is frayed. Please see pictures.
