This wonderful vintage elephant foot stool which is full of character and attributed to Dimitri Omersa for Liberty, London / Abercrombie and Fitch in USA dates from the mid 20th century.
Omersa designed and made leather animals from c1959 and the elephant was the first piece he designed. These were sold exclusively through Liberty of London in the UK and Abercrombie and Fitch in USA.
This desirable large size elephant which is made of a beautiful thick soft leather has his trunk turned up at the end, two lovely big ears, glass eyes, leather tusks and a tail with tassel end.
A very nice vintage piece that has is a beautiful dark brown colour with a wonderful patina. There is some damage to the leather and legs but still a lovely decorative piece with great character.
Would look stylish in the home just on display.

Condition: Nice pre-loved vintage condition with signs of use. There is some damage to the leather and legs. One leg is loose and the other is bent. Some marks, scuffs, rips and wear. Some repairs and restoration. Has a wonderful aged patina. Please see pictures.
