This handsome Georgian fire bucket which is made from thick high quality boiled leather (often called cuir bouilli) dates from c1800 and is beautifully decorated with the Royal Coat of Arms for the United Kingdom featuring the Lion and the Unicorn with Dieu et mon droit.
This bucket has a large metal top rim with studs around the top edge, studs down the side seam and also around the bottom edge and most probably have been used in a building used by the Government due to the coat of arms.
