This wonderful quality silver plated wine bottle holder which dates from c1890 is by renowned maker Mappin & Webb and has a scrolling design around the top and base.
This quality piece has a circular base which is marked with the maker's mark and rd number of 71553 to the underside.
The Victorian bottle holder opens so you can insert your wine bottle and then closes around it with the handles holding the bottle in place. Holds a standard bottle of wine (holds a wine or Champagne bottle with a bottom diameter of 9.5 cm max) and is a stylish way to serve wine from the bottle.
