A fine and unusual 19th century Italian Grand Tour patinated bronze inkwell.

The main body of the bronze inkwell is formed of three bulls with hoofed feet standing on a marble base. Each bull is separated by a face mask and foliage. The hinged lid is in Renaissance style with faces of Pan, foliage and is topped by a Putti with a lion.

The inside of the inkwell looks to be silver plated.

Origin: Italian.

Date: circa 1860.

Material: Bronze body and marble base.

Size: Height including base. 16.5 cm - 6 1/2 inches.

Condition: Used antique condition. Signs of use in keeping with age. Patinated Bronze. Lid hinge slightly twisted. No breaks to Bronze. No Liner. Some small chips to marble base Please see pictures.
