This unusual bowling trophy which is made of Solid Silver is made by Alwright & Marshall Ltd and is hallmarked for Dublin 1942.
The silver trophy has an interesting inscription that reads Leinster CC Bowling Club. Presented To Mrs E Lutman. On The Opening Of Season. 18th April 1942.
This Dublin silver trophy which is in the shape of a ball would make a wonderful collectors piece for a bowling enthusiast or silver collector.
This very nice trophy comes complete with it's three legged brass crossover stand.
Date: 1942.
Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked for silver. Dublin. Date letter A for 1942 and maker's mark A&M for Alwright & Marshall Ltd.
Size: Diameter of ball - 7 cm (2 3/4") approx. Height including stand - 16 cm (6 1/2") approx.
Weight of silver ball: 292 g. (Weighted / Filled).
Total weight of silver ball and stand: 354 g.Condition: Good used vintage condition with all over bruises and signs of use in keeping with age. Some light marks, scratches and tarnishing. There is a rubber bung fitted to the top. Please see pictures.
