This interesting Sterling Silver Polo trophy cup which has three Polo clubs surrounding the central stem is made by silversmith William Devenport and is fully hallmarked for 1928.

This handsome cup has an interesting inscription that reads Presented by Nedou's Hotel 1929 and would have been a polo trophy awarded for a polo tournament by the hotel in 1929.

I have done a little research and it appears that Nedou's Hotel is a hotel in Kashmir, India that has been operating since the 1800's and from the late 1800's became a popular destination for British Aristocrats, Colonial Government officials & foreign travellers.

This trophy which comes with the wood base would make a unique collector's piece for a polo enthusiast.
