This stunning and rare golf themed sterling silver desk box is made by high quality silversmith Mappin & Webb, dates from 1938, is wood lined and bears a wonderful original golf design to the top.

This beautiful quality box that can be used as a cigarette / cigar box, trinket/cufflink box or desk box is a nice heavy weight, looks wonderful on display and is an ideal gift for a golf enthusiast.

The lid has a light machined finish to the top, Art Deco column design feet and the middle wood divider can be moved so it could be used to hold a pack of playing cards.

Hallmarked to the base and side: Lion for sterling silver. Fully hallmarked for London. Date letter C for 1938. Maker's mark for Mappin & Webb. Also marked with the Mappin & Webb logo.

Condition: Very good antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some marks, light tarnishing and a few shallow dings. Some light staining to wood interior. Please see pictures.
