This Staffordshire Union Of Golf Clubs trophy shield which dates from 1937 / 1938 has a fully hallmarked silver plaque that is engraved with details of the event and the prize winners as follows:

Scarf Shield 1938. Won by South Staffs G C.

A.R.MacCallum 155. R.M.W Pritchard 158. N. Colledge 164. 477 At Oxley Park G.C.

The oak shield also has a banner style plaque to the top which reads Staffordshire Union Of Golf Clubs engraved together with a knotted rope.

A handsome and interesting piece of golfing history that would make a great collector's piece for a golf enthusiast.

Material: Oak. Solid silver.

Hallmark: Lion for sterling silver. Anchor for Birmingham. Date letter N for 1937 and maker's mark M & B for Marples & Beasley.

Dimensions: Width: 12.5 cm (5"). Height: 15.5 cm (6").

Weight: 146 g.

Condition: Very good antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. Please see pictures.
