This novelty antique butter dish which is made of silver plate is by silversmith George Travis & Co and dates from c1880.

This Victorian serving dish has four legs which are made up of two crossed croquet mallets to each side with a ball between, fittings that are in the form of croquet hoops and a revolving top that has a stylish leaf design.

A rare and unusual antique piece in great condition that would make a very nice gift for a croquet enthusiast.

Marks: Marked with maker's mark for George Travis & Co. EP.

Dimensions: Length: 21 cm (8 1/4"). Width: 16 cm (6 1/4"). Height: 11 cm (4 1/4").

Condition: Excellent used antique condition with light signs of use in keeping with age. No damage, breaks or splits. Some light wear to the inside of the bowl. One of the end screws is a replacement. Please see pictures.
