This fine antique walking cane which dates from 1888 has a beautiful malacca shaft with pronounced ridge, ornately decorated silver top and collar, brass tip and a superbly crafted unusual fluted handle which has a nice creamy colour.

This quality stick is a good length, fully hallmarked for London 1888 with the maker / retailer marks and would make a wonderful piece for a walking stick collector.

Nicely monogrammed to the top with J.M.

Date: 1888.

Hallmarked to top: Lion for sterling silver. Leopards head for London. Date letter N for 1888. B & Co and JD for the maker and retailer.

Marked twice to collar: B & Co.

Length: 93 cm - 36 1/2" approx.

Weight: 270 grams.

Condition: Excellent used antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. Some scratches, small bruises and general wear. The malacca shaft has some light surface cracking. Please see pictures.
