This antique large square mouth cricket kit bag which is made of dark brown leather is by Stuart Surridge and retailed by Lillywhites, dates from early 20th century, has the maker's label to the inside and the original owner's initials of R.C.H Armitstead embossed to the front.
This high quality leather bag which is a large size has developed a beautiful aged look, has three leather straps, brass fittings, side stays to keep the bag open, feet to the bottom and both ends, a strong leather carrying handle and brass lock.
This leather bag would have been used to carry your cricket kit such as shoes, pads, bat etc and this one is in great condition so can be used but also looks wonderful on display so would make a great show item in a shop, bar or cricket club. Would make an interesting addition to a collection of cricket memorabilia or museum.
Marks: Marked to the outside with the original owner's initials of R.C.H Armitstead.

Condition: Very good vintage condition with some scuffs, scrapes, cracking and marks from years of use. Handle is in very good strong condition. Straps are in good condition. One of the brass end clasps is missing. Lining has some staining but no tears or rips. There is no key for the lock but the bag stays shut with the straps. Please see pictures.
