This fabulous Victorian silver plated meat cover by Martin Hall & Co which dates from c1850 is in wonderful condition and a nice large size making it perfect for covering a big roast or Christmas turkey.

The handsome design looks super with it's beaded design and the sides decorated. One with a lion crest and the other a blank cartouche.

Martin Hall & Co participated to the 1851 Great Exhibition and were well regarded as one of the top smith companies.

Measurements: approx 46 cm long (18"), 35 cm wide (13 3/4") and 28 cm (11") high including handle.

Material: Silver Plate.

Marked: EPNS & Maker's mark of MH & Co for Martin Hall & Co.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with some light signs of use in keeping with age. A few light scratches. A couple of tiny shallow dings that don't really notice, small marks and spots of tarnishing. No large dents or scratches. Plate is in very good condition with just one very small area of wear near the hallmark. Original handle fits perfectly. Inside is very clean. Please see pictures.
