These fascinating glass eyes which were skilfully made by hand by ocularist Henri Giron come complete in their original Henri Giron of Paris box and would make an interesting collector's piece.

Dating from c1900 these two antique glass eyes which were hand blown with the iris and pupil blown into the glass have beautifully hand painted blood vessels on the eyeball.

Henri Giron were an ocularist specialising in the making and fitting of ocular prostheses for people who have lost eyes due to trauma or illness. They were also in high demand during the war due to injuries caused by flying shrapnel.

Marks: Marked to inside of box - Henri Giron. 7 Rue de la Pepiniere, Paris.

Dimensions of box: Width: 6 cm (2 1/4"). Depth: 3.5 cm (1 1/2"). Height: 2.5 cm (1").

Total weight: 16 g.

Condition: Excellent antique condition with some light wear to the outer of box. Please see pictures.
