This handsome antique chess clock made by HAC (Hamburg American Clock Company) is made of oak and dates from the 1920's.

This very nice chess clock has two wind up mechanisms, a pause / locking button in the middle, two flags and player buttons on the top.

The front of the wooden clock housing bears a brass plaque with the owner's name. James Brown.

The clock seems to be working fine with both clocks ticking away nicely when each button is pressed and it is extra nice that it comes in it's wood carry / storage box which is lined with green baize, has a leather handle and locks with it's key.

Clock size: Width: 23 cm (9"). Height: 17 cm (6 1/2").

Carry case size: Width: 28 cm (11"). Height: 20 cm (8") plus handle.

Date: 1920's.

Region: German.

Weight including case: 2.158 kg.

Condition: Excellent original antique condition with some signs of use in keeping with age. I have had the clocks running for about a week and they seem to be working fine but do not come with a guarantee. The switches and central locking bar work well. The hour hand in one of the clocks is slightly out of alignment but this would be easy to put right. The case has age related wear with some cracking. One corner of the clock has a bruise.
