This large, heavy and impressive football trophy cup which is made of silver plate dates from c1936 and has a wonderful original engraving to the front of a football referee wearing his Lancashire Referees' Association uniform and carrying a football.

This unusual trophy is nicely engraved with the inscription Lancashire Referees' Association. Award for Merit. Presented by W Stott Esqr. 1936, is made by Atkin Brothers, has a removable lid with a top finial and two large size handles.

This unique trophy would make a fine collector's item and would be an ideal museum piece.

Marked to underside of base: Atkin Brothers Sheffield and Maker's mark for Atkin Brothers. EPBM. 3685.

Dimensions: Width across at handles: 30 cm (11 3/4"). Width: 18 cm (7"). Height: 39 cm (15 1/4").

Weight: 1860 g.

Condition: Good antique / vintage condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some marks, scratches, tarnishing and general wear. A bruise to the handle, the base is uneven and the top finial sits to one side slightly. Please see pictures.
