This handsome Victorian hip flask which is made of solid silver is fully hallmarked for 1888, has a hinged flip / bayonet top which is tight and seals well so does not leak and is made by silversmith Colen Hewer Cheshire.
This hip flask has a charming crest engraved to the front incorporating an elephant's head with a raised trunk together with the motto Tenax In Fide (Steadfast in the faith).
A beautiful quality antique flask in excellent condition that is nice and tactile so would make a wonderful gift.

Hallmarks: Fully hallmarked for silver, Anchor for Birmingham, Victoria's head, makers mark C.C for Colen Hewer Cheshire. Date letter O for 1888. Hallmarked to both sides of the body.
Dimensions: 6.5 cm (2 1/2") Width. 2 cm (3/4") Depth. 12 cm (4 3/4") Height.
Holds: 125 ml. (1/5 pint. 4 1/4 fl oz).
Total weight: 116 grams.
Condition: Excellent used antique condition with only light signs of use in keeping with age. No damage, splits, holes or breaks. The hinged lid closes tightly with no leaks. Please see pictures.
