This fabulous Victorian street vendor's chestnut roaster which dates from the 19th century is made of wrought iron, stands on iron legs and has a turning barrel in which the chestnuts are cooked and kept hot over hot charcoal.

This unusual roaster would have been used by a Victorian street food vendor to sell his chestnuts on the streets in the run up to Christmas. Nowadays this looks wonderful on display and is a real Christmas statement piece. Can also be used to roast other nuts and coffee beans.

Date: 19th century.

Materials: Wrought iron.

Weight: 6.6 Kg.

Size: Height: 59.5 cm (23 1/2"). Width: 56 cm (22") including handle. Depth: 23 cm (9") approx.

Condition: Good used antique decorative condition with lots of wear and tear. There are some holes to the iron but this all adds to the charm and look. Has some restoration/repainting. Please see pictures.
