This interesting silver polo trophy which is by silversmith Thomas Bishton is fully hallmarked for 1901 and does not have any inscription so could be used as an award for your own event that you could get engraved if you so wished.

This unusual silver trophy is designed as a bowl sitting on three chunky crossed polo mallets with a central ball fitted to a silver weighted base.

This would make a great polo trophy or just a nice decorative collectors piece.

Material: Sterling silver.

Date: 1901.

Maker: Thomas Bishton.

Hallmarked: Fully hallmarked with Lion for sterling silver. Anchor for Birmingham. Date letter b for 1901 and with the maker's mark T.B for Thomas Bishton.

Dimensions: Diameter at base: 10 cm (4"). Height: 15.5 cm (6").

Weight: 206 g (trophy has a weighted base).

Condition: Good antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. All over bruising. Some light surface scratches and tarnish. One of the polo mallets does not have the top strap. Hallmarks are faint but can just be read. Base is weighted. Please see pictures.
