This large French oil painting of the crucifixion of Christ dates from the late 18th / early 19th century and has been skilfully painted using oils on canvas.

This antique painting which originated in France has a stunning presence with age related wear and a good size at 81 cm high.

This impressive religious painting has had a few touch ups and small repairs in the past which all add to the wonderful look and is a real statement piece.

Medium: Oil painting on canvas with wooden stretchers to back.

Date: Late 18th / early 19th century - c1800.

Dimensions: Width: 65 cm (25 1/2"). Height: 81 cm (32"). Depth: 2 cm (3/4").

Weight: 1826 g.

Condition: Good decorative antique condition with signs of use in keeping with age. Some crazing, small marks, light wear, cracks, chips, repairs, touch ups, aged patina which all add to the charm. Appears to have been remounted. Unframed. Please see pictures.
